Thomas McKnight's ability to create works, full of color and image, was first discovered at about the age of thirteen, when his mother gave him a set of oil paints. McKnight grew up in various suburbs throughout the United States, spent time in Europe where he developed a love of European civilization, and he attended Wesleyan University and Columbia University. In the 1980's, McKnight discovered the brillant colors and clean shapes of limited edition serigraph prints, reflected his own visions. By the end of the decade, McKnight's work had become very popular (especially in Japan). Four books had been devoted to his work, hundreds of silkscreen editions sold and he was commissioned to paint views of Kobe for the city's 1993 fair. Thomas McKnight currently resides in Palm Beach, Florida.
