Ken Keeley is a unique independent artist who has made a mark in the art world. He began his journey with signed cibachrome prints. Keeley then progressed to larger silkscreen editions and posters. His artwork featured iconic locations like Times Square, the 59th Street Bridge, and Nathan’s Famous.
As a result, his work has become synonymous with New York City for many people. Currently, Keeley independently produces and publishes his artwork in giclee format. These paintings are showcased in public collections. Philadelphia Museum of Fine Art, Malcolm Forbes Public Museum, Reading Museum of Fine Art, and Stoney Brook University, Long Island, New York, are some of them.
Keeley’s artwork is distinguished by his ability to capture universal scenes. He then adds intimate detail and a certain emotion. Furthermore, his art acknowledges the past, present, and future while he works steadily with a keen eye and steady hand. Painting out of his home studio shared with his wife outside Lake Placid, Florida He is constantly exploring new ways to convey the active stillness that connects the artist with the thousands of people who own a Keeley poster, painting, or print. Keeley maintains a genuine work ethic. He works alone without projectors or studio assistants, as he did when he began thirty years ago.
